Position Title: Cable Technician (Copper and Fiber)

Work Location: Hickam AFB, Oahu, HI

Job Summary
KaiHonua, LLC has an immediate opening for a Cable Technician to join our rapidly growing team. The successful candidate will work within a cohesive team to support our government customer. The candidate will be responsible for Inside Plant (ISP)/Outside Plant (OSP) copper and fiber installation, splicing, terminating and testing under the supervision of the team lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Installs, removes, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs telecommunication cabling and equipment
• Pulling terminating, and splicing cables and cable trays
• Responds to emergency calls in the event of a system failure
• Verifies services by testing circuits and cables and identifying, correcting, or escalating problems
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
• 3-5 years of experience preferred
• BICSI Installer 2 certification is a plus
• Associates degree or higher preferred

Abilities
• Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot ISP/OSP cables
• Knowledge and experience with ethernet and fiber optic cable
• Cable installation and management
• Signal testing and troubleshooting
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to lead other technicians

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.

Security Clearance
